About MILL-HI COFFEE

Hey, I’m Joshua. I’m a home barista here in Beaufort, and honestly, my favorite part of making coffee is just slowing down to get a drink exactly right, sharing it with friends, and seeing their reaction.

A while back, I got totally sucked into watching videos of people turning regular cars and vans into tiny mobile cafés. I loved how much character those setups had. It really inspired me to finally take the leap and start my own business, MILL-HI COFFEE. The name is pretty simple: “Mill” is for grinding fresh beans, and “Hi” is for just good, genuine hospitality.

I’ve never really seen MILL-HI as just another standard food truck. I want it to feel like a real, cozy coffee shop that just happens to be on wheels. I’m super inspired by the mobile cafés in Japan built out of tiny Kei trucks, which are those miniature vintage vehicles that have so much personality. A quick coffee stop there feels like a special, peaceful little highlight of your day. That’s the vibe I want to bring to Beaufort.

Obviously, building out a full truck is a massive investment, so I’m taking it one step at a time. Right now, I’m starting out with a mobile coffee cart for local pop-ups and private events. I’m completely learning as I go, and every gig helps me figure out the next step and save up for the bigger vision. I don’t know how long it’ll take to get the actual truck, but for now, I’m just having fun making great coffee, meeting people, and keeping the dream moving forward.
